India’s dealers’ body reports a 12% increase in retail auto sales during the holiday season.
According to the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADS), sales during the holiday season, which ran from October 3 to November 13, were roughly 4.3 million units, up from 3.8 million units the previous year. FADA blamed a cyclone in the eastern state of Odisha and unusually high rains in South India for the sales’ failure to meet its 4.5 million target. During the holiday season, Indians typically spend a lot of money on things like cars. Last year, the holiday season began in mid-October and ended in mid-November.
Two-wheeler sales increased by almost 14%, while car sales increased by 7%, thanks to what the FADA referred to as “unprecedented discounts.”
